In the Interior Design and architectural world, the “Hamptons” depicts its own refined, upscale and posh style. The casual coastal feel and style is spacious and airy, classy, elegant and chic. I best describe this style as casual elegance. The interiors are calming and the furnishings and palette are soft with natural materials. The rooms are filled with light, neutral walls combined with blues, pale grays, and linen fabrics to keep the feel lived in but luxurious. 

The interiors are calming and the furnishings and palette are soft with natural materials. The floors – soft, bleached colors. porcelain tiles and marble play against the white monochromatic grey and neutral tones.  This refined, sophisticated style lends itself to kitchens that are typically white, light in feel.  Marble tops are timeless, elegant and always refined. Shaker style kitchen cabinets are streamlined.

Hamptons design look is luxury at its finest. 

Here are some of my favorite Hamptons design tips:

1. The Layout – The layout should encourage socializing and entertaining . After all, that is what the Hamptons is all about. A place for family and friends to gather. A special home to often forget the traffic, noise and chaos of New York City. 
2. Colors  – Soft. Coastal blues, warm whites, greys and neutrals.
3. Materials – Think natural, however some homes might prefer a more “rustic” version of natural while other homeowners desire the other end of the spectrum – refined and polished that creates a contemporary, modern and upscale natural style. At Interiors by Just Design, we are here to understand your particular design style and interpret your vision into the home of your dreams. 
4. Cozy meets luxury – The Hampton home should feel cozy yet luxurious. To create this look I like to use furnishing with light, oversized cushions, casual and classic furnishings, and yes lots of  throw pillows. This helps create that inviting and casual feel that is perfect for entertaining or just relaxing after a long hectic week . Yes, we all deserve that don’t we ? 
5. Personalize – It is always important to add those one of a kind items of decor that make a home truly your own. These may be your most coveted, eye-catching paintings or sculptures by renown artists (or even your own masterpieces!), or as simple as your precious photos of family and friends, or even decorative items from places you’ve travelled. Personal pieces really elevate and make your home the showplace of your dreams.
